Add cement and crushed rock to the same order, and we'll bring it all straight to your home, garden, or worksite. Most orders arrive within a few business days. Retaining blocks are used to build garden walls, raised garden beds, terraced slopes, and planter borders. They hold back soil to create level, usable space in a sloped yard, or simply add structure to garden beds. Choose from Gardenwall blocks in charcoal, portstone, and Hawkesbury yellow tones, WedgeBLOK for curved walls, or standard hollow blocks for core-filled structural work.
Small retaining blocks, like the Gardenwall range, are light and easy to handle, making them ideal for DIY garden borders, raised beds, and low walls. Large retaining blocks, such as 200mm hollow blocks, are used for structural walls that hold back significant soil and are usually core-filled with concrete. As a rule of thumb: the taller the wall, the bigger and stronger the block you'll need.

Good drainage is what keeps a retaining wall standing. Behind the wall, lay free-draining crushed rock or screenings with a slotted ag pipe at the base to carry water away. Without drainage, water builds up and pushes against the wall, which is the most common reason walls fail.
